My Question or Issue
The heart icon in the notification drawer no longer works.
It doesn't add the song to my library, nor it likes the song.
Spotify version: 184.108.40.2067

Issue still persists
The heart icon in the notification tray does not work
Also as many have pointed out, it does not work in Discover Weekly playlist and some others.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1) Play Discover Weekly Playlist
2) Minimize app /Put it in background (Optional)
3) Open Notification Panel (like the image below)
4) Click on heart icon (it will not work)
The like button still does not works as of Jan 16 2020
Spotify version: 220.127.116.119
The issue is still present and the steps to reproduce the issue remain the same

Note: Please use Discover Weekly playlist to reproduce the issue as it has never worked on that playlist. Thank you
The issue seems to have been resolved for many including me but there are some people who are still facing the issue.
I'll keep the idea open until we receive an official word from Spotify.

Also make sure you clear cache, force stop app and restart.

Tried listening to my Discover Weekly playlist the other day while driving. The suggestions keep getting worse (separate issue) so I use the dislike button a LOT of late. Trying to dislike something from the notification area interface doesn't work. I've had problems before where it lagged and then disliked multiple tracks in a row, but now it just doesn't do anything. Not that it actually influences the selection of my next Discover playlist or prevents that track from playing again the next time through the playlist anyway, but it would be nice if it at least pretended to work.
Getting real tired of paying for premium and getting a useless app.
I have the same issue, both on Android app and the Windows desktop app. Both apps I can not dislike/hide songs anymore.
I'm extremely annoyed by the Spotify apps for the past few months, I'm trying out a few alternatives atm and leaving the second I made my decision because Spotify obviously doesn't give a **bleep** anymore at this point. The issues you mentioned have been known for weeks and some other feature issues even months and on top of that they remove useful features and replace them with garbage nobody asked for.
Same here, and the dislike button doesn't work either. It started about a month ago or so in Android Pie, but the same happens in Android 10.
After the latest update, the like song button in the notification controls is no longer working. Persists after force stopping app and rebooting device.
Seems like every update is removing features (widget) or breaking things.
This has been going on for a couple of weeks.

Welcome to the Community.
We know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstall of the app. Just follow these steps.
If you're still having trouble, could you let us know the exact version of Spotify?

This has already been happening since Android Pie (9), but the like/dislike buttons simply don't do anything in the notification bar. It shows that it was pressed but the buttons don't update nor do anything in the app when I unlock my phone. The phone being locked also has no influence on this.
I know there is a similar thread, but I'd like for to raise the awareness a little...
It's been broken for a while already — would be great to hear something from some Moderators.
I'm also facing the same issue. It's quite annoying.
I've tried that multiple times along with deleting data and uninstall/reinstall.
Have you tried clean reinstallation of your Spotify app?
Regular reinstallation might not help, but this one usually helps.
