[Mobile] Recently Played not updating

We're receiving reports from users that Recently Played is not updating. This might also include Recently Played Artists.

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

 

We’re happy to say that this should now be fixed for everyone! The Recently Played history that is available via the dedicated icons on mobile next to the settings button and on desktop next to the queue should be updating again.

Just make sure your app is updated to the latest version.

 

If you're experiencing issues with any other recently played items such as those on a profile or the home screen, make sure to post a new thread in the relevant help board here.

My Question or Issue

This happened today. So on my account, both mobile and desktop, my recently played on my profile have stopped updating since 8 hours. I've played more than 20 songs from my 3 playlists but still no change. Tried logging in and out and checking on web browser. Both android and PC versions are completely up to date too but still my recently played songs and artists aren't updating at all.

 

Also I've unfollowed a few artists and even my artist followed has stopped updating. Its as if my account has completely disconnected but songs are still playing and i can add and remove them from playlists. Also my private sessions are off and i have enabled share listening activity and i haven't changed any settings manually 

 

This was working perfectly yesterday as usual. Please look into this

 

Edit: I've added images to explain better. This is from my recently played songs in my mobile app and my recently played artists on my profile. As you can clearly see they are both out of sync since yesterday and show completely different artists altogether (How is that even possible ?). Since then I've played >10 new artists but it hasn't been updated in either of them

My Question or Issue

Recently Played Artists aren't updating. I have my Listening Activity turned On and I also turned the Recently Played Artist privacy settings on and off and it still doesn't update. Please fix!

Experiencing the same issue here!!

 

Device + OS version

  Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Android 10

 

Exact Spotify version:

 8.6.42.671

 

Plan:

 Premium

 

If the Private Session is on/off:

 It was turned off

 

Troubleshooting steps that you've tried so far:

 Cleared my cache

 Removed all the apps which had access to Spotify

 Logged out of my Spotify acc & then logged in

 Uninstalled and reinstalled the app

 Rebooted my phone and still no changes seen

 Recently played stopped updating on 10th July around 9pm IST

 

Update : it's working now thank you so much!!

i have this problem too my recently plays and recently artists don't update for last 19-20 hours,i'm not in private season, i did play so many songs since yesterday but like spotify don't see them

Troubleshooting:

I have restarted my phone, logged out of account and deleted the app and reinstalled. I have also checked all my social settings, I am not in private session. 

 

Hey guys! I have listened to over 4 hours of music today until I realised my recently played artists hasn’t updated since yesterday. Please fix this Spotify!!!! Please HELP ME!!!! It’s driving me insane!!!!!!

Ive had a hard time getting my recently played songs to update or even show up at all. Im

glad I’m not the only one though I thought it was just my Spotify not working correctly. Hopefully they get this resolved soon.

I am very frustrated and I would hate to give up my Spotify premium and switch to Apple Music because I love Spotify in every way but  this glitch is driving me crazy! Please fix ASAP.
