My Question or Issue

I have all of my saved albums downloaded, when I'm offline, the filters don't change anything. I'm stuck with the recently added filter, which is the worst. When I'm online, it automatically updates to the filter I have on, but if I go online, it is still stuck with the recently added filter. Please don't reply with a "reinstall", because it doesn't truly fix anything, thank you.

Hey folks,

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

We’re happy to say that this should now be fixed for everyone! Make sure your app is updated to the latest version.

If you're still having trouble, make sure to post a new thread in the relevant help board here.

Thanks!

My Question or Issue

Since 2-3 days i can't sort my downloaded albums by Artist on the album page, they are always sort by recent downloads. I've tried to remove the hidden files, i've deleted the app and then downloaded it again but nothing works.

I've been using Spotify with this sorting since 2015, i just can't change my way to listen and search for albums i want to listen.

Thanks.

Hey there @Yoler

Thanks for reaching out - we’re here to help!

We're aware of a recent issue that used to cause what you observe. Would you mind reinstalling Spotify on your mobile phone once again? This time make sure you perform a clean reinstall of the app - it's a more thorough step letting you start afresh with Spotify on your device.

Once you've got the new version of the app you should be able to see the old album order. Let us know if this solved it for you or you still experience the same.

We'll look out for your reply.

Ivan

Hey there @user-removed,

Thanks for reaching out - we’re here to help!

Just to double-check, have you tried performing a clean reinstall instead of the simple one? We recommend this troubleshooting step as a more thorough than the regular reinstall, making sure you'll avoid any cache-related issues on your mobile.

Check out this help page in order to find the steps for a clean reinstall on the affected device.

If this doesn’t do the trick, try logging in to your Spotify account on another device just to check if you observe the same. If it doesn't occur on a different device, we'd suggest making sure that your original device is up to speed with any software updates available.

Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.

I'm having the same issue on my Moto X4 running Android Pie. I'm used to organizing my albums by A-Z, and having it switched back to recently added makes offline mode unusable. Reinstalling fixes nothing here and simply forces me to redownload everything one by one.

I did it, and it works... for 30 minutes, but past that, the problem comes back.

My Question or Issue

When my phone is offline, all my saved albums get sorted by recently added even if I try to sort them by title or artist in the filter section. But when I go online, this problem disappears and I'm able to sort by title, artist or recently added. Tried reinstalling Spotify but the next day I ended up with the same issue.

Hello, welcome to the Spotify community!

This is caused because of your connection indeed.
Once you go offline, the app won't notice filters which are stored online.
It will recognize filters like downloaded songs, because it stores them on your device.

Unfortunately I don't think this can be fixed.

Have a nice day!
