[Mobile] Unable to download podcast episodes

We've received reports that users are unable to download podcast episodes on the mobile app. Downloading music is unaffected and works as usual.

I think it's not related, or not only with the app and app updates, but something in the server. Because there are days (few days now) when download button works. Some moments where automatic download works.

Today download stopped again

I seem to be able to actually download episodes, but the new episodes are not automatically downloading and showing up in "Your Episodes".

I have removed the download setting and replaced it.

I have un-followed / re-followed podcasts.

I have cleared cache.

I have cleared all app information.

I have removed app, then reinstalled app.

I have removed app, rebooted phone, then reinstalled app.

When I download a podcast it says it is downloaded. However, when I go to listen to it offline in work, it is not available and shows the rotating circle icon instead of the solid green circle to indicate it was downloaded.

Sometimes signing out and signing in works, but when that doesn't work I've done the clean reinstall thing: 

• Open Spotify. In the app's settings (you can access them by going to your profile picture in the top left corner and then tapping the Settings and privacy gear icon), tap Storage then Delete Cache.
• Head to your device's Settings, then tap General.
• Tap iPhone Storage.
• Select Spotify from the list of apps.
• Tap Offload the app and confirm. This will delete the app but its documents data will be kept.
• Then tap Delete App and confirm. This action should delete any leftover documents and data.
• Once the app is deleted, press and hold the Side/Top button and either volume button until the power off slider appears.
• Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
• After your device turns off, wait a couple of minutes.
• Press and hold the Top (or Side) button again until the display turns on.
• Switch your device back on and install Spotify from the App Store

Same here in that to play off-line, cannot download Podcast episodes to Mobile App  (iPhone 11 iOS 17.4.1) Spotify Version 8.9.40.506

For the past week or so My google Pixel will download podcasts fine, but my vehicle a 2023 GMC with google android system and Spotify app,  will not. It will not even display any Podcasts even ones that are already downloaded. If I Bluetooth and play by android Auto then they will play as it is using the phone which will work... Some update has obviously affected things.

It's working again for me, I waited a couple of days before posting this, but all my new episodes are downloading automatically since yesterday morning, after 2+ weeks not working. Nothing changed in my iphone (iphone 13, ios 17.5.1, spotify 8.9.40.506), so I can only assume this was caused by something on the server side.

Yup, same here but logged out of Spotify App, switched phone (iPhone 11) off/on, logged back into Spotify and all back working. Cudda been purely coincidental and down to Spotify sorting App update glitches. But so far, all 👌🏼 …. 🙏

I’m having the same issues since the latest update of the Spotify app.

I’m currently running Spotify music on my Apple Watch 8 with the latest IOS software.

I’m not able to listen to Podcast - issues with downloads.
