My Question or Issue

I am a premium user and I have been for a long time. Recently i've been having some issues with downloading music/podcasts to listen to offline. It isn't letting me.  At first it was saying that this was because I had a small amount of memory left on my phone so I freed up a lot of space and that didn't seem to make a difference (more on this later).

After unistalling and reinstalling, when I now go to download something I get the message 'You discovered a Premium feature! Get Spotify Premium now'. When I click on this it just takes me back to my home page. Spotify premium is working fine for me besides this, and is working fine on my pc and ps4. Help would be greatly appreciated as my work is incredibly boring without something to listen to.

Also despite clearing the cache through spotify there is still 7.5 Gb of spotify stuff on my sd card which I don't know how to remove. I've tried deleting the folder through the file browser ni my phone but this doesn't work.

Hey folks,

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

The issue should be fixed with the latest version of the app! Make sure to reinstall/update the app for the changes to take effect.

If you're still experiencing this issue, make sure to create a new thread in the help boards and we'll jump in there.

Thanks! Stay awesome 🙂

Hey there @OliverK96.

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Community!

First, we'd recommend making sure that you're logging in to the right account.

If you still see this error message despite having other Premium features, it would be helpful if you could share any screenshots of the error message you see so we can take a closer look. Just make sure that no private/sensitive info is displayed.

Regarding removing any cached files on your SD card, we'd recommend taking a look at this support site article on how to clear your cache. We'd also suggest heading here and selecting "Remove All Devices". After that, you can follow the steps here to reinstall the app in your device one more time.

If that doesn't do the trick, you can take a look at the suggestions offered by other Community users in this thread

Let us know how you get on 🙂

My Question or Issue

Despite having premium my phone wont download songs, Ive tried uninstalling and everything else thats been recommended in the other forums and each time it will download my library and then a few hours later if I try to download anything new it will show a small banner down the bottom of the screen saying "youve discovered a premium feature - get premium" and if clicked it takes me to the spotify app home page. every other premium feature still works and the songs that were downloaded originally stay downloaded.

thanks

Hello @ConnorMcDonald ,

Thanks for reaching out to the community!

Try logging out and back into your account?

Let me know if it worked

🙂

ConnorMcDonald

Thanks for the reply @xoholo, that didnt work, ive tried logging out, uninstalling, removing all ofline devices, and a few other things and none have worked - they only fix the issue for a few hours at most and then it will start showing the banner again

Guido

Hey @ConnorMcDonald.

Thanks for getting in touch!

It's very easy to create an account with us. So perhaps you have a second account you did not know about. You can take a look here to find any additional accounts you might have.

Hope it helps. Let us know if you have further questions.

Have a nice day!

Hi @Guido

Thanks for the help, I just tried that and I only have the one account and both my laptop and phone are logged into the same account

Katerina

Hey there @ConnorMcDonald,

Thanks for confirming!

It'd be also helpful if you could log in with your account to a different mobile device so we check if this is an account or device related issue.

If this only occurs on the first mobile device, we'd recommend making sure that both your device and the Spotify app are on the latest versions available.

Let us know how you get on 🙂

I've got the same problem. Did you manage to find a solution?

ConnorMcDonald

Hi Katerina, it did the same thing where it downloads normally for an hour or so then it showed the same banner saying I've discovered a premium feature, I've checked and all my devices have the latest version

thanks

My Question or Issue

If I uninstall all updates it works fine but if I update to the newest update it tells me I have discovered a premium feature even though my premium works fine on the old version
