Music pausing due to "Account being used elsewhere". Logged out everywhere, still an issue.

Basically, what the title says. My Spotify keeps pausing because apparently another device is using it which is almost impossible. I logged out everywhere just to make sure and the error is still happening. Spotify is closed on my phone and that is the only device I've connected it to. Any ideas?

It sounds like someone is using your account. Could you change your passwords and sign out everywhere here? Let me know if it happens after that.

I have exactly the same issue. I have been a premium subscriber for a few years now and ever since I first travelled and used the service in another country for the first time I have been dogged by the messages referring to my account being in use elsewhere and curtailing of my streaming. This even happens when I am using the service on one device in my own home.

 

I have raised the issue a number of times and on each occasion I have been told to log out on all devices and change my password. I must have followed this advice four or five times. The issue is never resolved; the messages recommence within a day / use or two.

 

This is a seriously disruptive and annoying issue. I have to recommence streaming a number of times before the messaging and interruptions cease.

 

I pay £9.99 p.c.m for this service and I have to work around the system faults to stream the service. It is about time Spotify revises its service to permit the registration of devices and streaming on the devices registered. For Premium it should be all registered devices provided those devices are used on the 'home' IP network at least some part of the time. For cheaper subscriptions Spotify could limit the number of devices which could be registered.

 

Please get your house in order. I am about to holiday in Spain for a week and I quite expect to encounter difficulties when travelling and on-going difficulties when I return.

Signed out everywhere, and changed password but iPhone app won't play longer than 10 seconds before pausing again with the same message.
