[New desktop app] Notifications not showing up on desktop app

My Question or Issue

I currently have "Show desktop notifications when the song changes" enabled in Settings on my Spotify Windows 10 app (ver 1.1.55.498.gf9a83c60-a). However, when songs change, no notification shows up. Is this a bug or is there something else that needs to be configured?

We can confirm that this feature is no longer available as it has been removed from the app, so we'll be closing this thread.

 

If you'd like to see this feature again, you can take a look at our Idea Exchange to see if someone else has already made a similar suggestion. If there isn't one, you can give these steps a go and submit your idea so that other users can also support it.

@Katerina Updated Spotify to version 1.1.57.443.ga029a6c4-a today - problem still persists.

Also updated to version 1.1.57.443.ga029a6c4-a but still seeing the issue. Tried a clean reinstall of Spotify but to no avail.

  • Checked that notifications are enabled and working properly & Do Not Disturb is off
  • Tried a clean reinstallation of the app

I have the exact problem on macOS 11.3 and latest Spotify 1.1.58.820. Please prioritize the fix for this issue.

Same problem. 

 

OS: macOS Big Sur 11.3.1

Machine: Macbook Pro 13-inch 2020. 

Spotify: 1.1.58.820.g2ae50076-a 

 

Spotify does not appear in Settings -> Notifications and "Desktop notifications when song changes" is allowed in the Spotify app.

Performed a clean reinstall and still did not fix. Would appreciate help! @Katerina

Same issue.

 

Mac, OS 11.3
App Version: 1.1.58.820.g2ae50076-a

 

"Spotify" does not appear in the systems notification settings.

This is happening to me too.  I am on a literal brand new computer, just unsealed and opened the box like a couple hours ago today.

 

Operating system: Windows 10 Home 20H2, build 19042.928, Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0

Spotify version: 1.1.58.820.g2ae50076-a

If you're also having troubles seeing any notifications when the tracks change in the new look, please add your +VOTE here.

 

If you haven't already shared the info, we'd also like the following details:

  • Your device and operating system version
  • Your exact Spotify version
  • Make sure notifications are enabled and working properly:
    • [Windows 10] the Notifications sidebar on Windows isn't on Focus Assist or any other mode that would snooze notifications
    • [MacOS] Spotify's relevant notifications are allowed on from the device's Settings > Notifications and you haven't switched Do Not Disturb
  • Any screenshots or screenrecordings of what's happening - just make sure that there's no private/sensitive info displayed. 
  • The troubleshooting steps you've tried so far, like a clean reinstallation of the app.
