No Sound Through Onkyo TX-RN646

Hi,

Since around 2-3 weeks ago, I can't remember to be exact, no sound is coming through my reciever from Spotify. The reciever is working fine, spotify on my iPad, pc and mobile are working fine, but when I go to listen on other devices and select the receiver no sound comes out. Volume is fine as when you adjust the sound it comes up on the screen the volume bar so the table/phone/pc is connected, but just no sound.

 

The receiver has got the latest firemware from Onkyo, re-installed Spotify on my mobile and iPad with no success. When choosing another device it changes to it, but no sound.

Is there a solution to this as this is one of the main reasons for buying Spotify premium and the A/V amp.

Can you let us know the firmware version of your receiver and the Spotify versions of your devices? Try resetting your WiFi router to see if this makes a difference.

Hi,

 

Thanks for getting back to me. The fireware is currently on 1060-3040-1105, I've checked and it says it's the latest firmware. It has a connection to my mobile and tablet as it controls the volume on the receiver, the display used to show my mobile phone name but the display is just blank now.

 

I have reset my router several times but no luck.

If possible, can you try to log in to your Spotify account using a different internet connection? We'd also recommend asking a friend or family member to sign into their Spotify account on your device to check if this is still happening.

Hi,

I logged in at my parents to my account and that was fine, came back home and logged in again and no luck, silence. Got a mate to log in to his account but as he only has free he doresn't get the option to sent to other devices.

Is there any way of removing devices and re-synchronising?

If you can help at all as this is the main reason for signing up for premium thanks

You can log out from all devices, just going to your accoun overview here and the click on SIGN OUT EVERYWHERE. 

 

Once you've done this, you can re-pair your account to your receiver.

Hi,

Ok, tried that. I had my tablet, mobile and pc app open and it kicked me out of all three which was good. Signed back in to my app on my pc and it still had the receiver registered. No option to re-sync back up 😞

It seems as though it just needs this to happen to see it again, even though I still can control the receiver through the Spotify app. As soon as I switch to listen on my pc the sounds comes through.

Hi, 

FYI - it is now fixed 🙂

I've reset my router before by powering it off, but this time I unplugged power and network cables from all the kit and left them unplugged for around 5 mins. Powered on my router and left that to get it's internet connection, after waiting for that to come online, I then plugged the network cable and power back into the receiver and powered back on. Went to Connect to a Device in Spofify and on it came, it was music to my ears!! 🙂 It sounds as though it needed a new IP address to sync back up again, unfortunately the router wouldn't allow me to release that IP from the reciever, but I an pleased to say I am back up and running.

 

Thanks for your correspondence in trying to help me fix this, it's been well over 2 weeks since this happened and I was missing my music a lot, thanks again.
