Notification Dropdown is gone

Operating System Version: El Capitan 10.11.5

Spotify Version: 1.0.29.90.g200ff544

Description: The Notifications Drop Down that used to appear to the left of Messages disappeared a couple of days ago and is still not there. At the same time I noticed it was missing, I also saw that I show no recent activity and my Recently Played Artists has not been updating.  Anyone else seeing this, I did not see it listed as an active issue. This is on a Macbook Pro fyi

The Bell icon has been removed by Spotify, no info when and if it's coming back. Check out this thread below.
