On Repeat & Repeat Rewind playlists not updating or appearing at all.

Wondering if someone can help me... since the new Spotify update for desktop, my On Repeat and Repeat Rewind playlists have not updated (currently for 8 days) even though I've listened to lots of different songs in the past week etc., when they would previously update every 3 days. They are also no longer appearing in my 'Made for you' category. This is happening on both my PC (which is on Windows 10) and my iPhone. I've tried a complete reinstall of Spotify, as well as logging out from all my devices... I would appreciate it if someone could help me try to get them to update.

Thanks in advance.

Hey @Alex_lewis, thanks for bringing this up! I've asked around a bit to see if any other users are experiencing this, and there doesn't currently seem to be any widespread issue occurring. The best recommendation for the time being would be to just continue regularly listening to the music you love and keep an eye on those playlists, especially On Repeat, to update again in the coming weeks as Spotify continues to learn your preferences. Please let us know if you still continue having issues, and we'll also be on the lookout for any other reports of similar problems!

MattSuda

Mine haven't updated in over a week. They still show up under made for you though.

I have the same issue, both on mobile and desktop.

My On Repeat and Repeat Rewind playlists last updated on April 2nd. However, in my case they still show up in Made For You.

Mobile:

  • device + OS version: LG Velvet (5G), Android 11,
  • exact Spotify version: 8.6.16.1041

Desktop:

  • device + OS version: HP Envy, Windows 10 64-bit
  • exact Spotify version: 1.1.56.595.g2d2da0de (Microsoft Store version)

Thanks for the updates @MattSuda and @Emilia_8! Interesting to see this happening to at least a few people now. I can confirm that my playlists also are still not updating. Repeat Rewind has actually been stagnant even longer (since March 19), although I'm used to that one not updating quite as frequently as On Repeat normally did.

Hope that's everything I need to provide.

Hey @Alex_lewis, thanks for posting that screenshot! I think I may have figured out why you're not seeing your On Repeat and Repeat Rewind playlists in your Made for You section on the desktop. If you're accessing it from the home tab, you'll only see an abbreviated version of the section that doesn't actually include all of the playlists. Try clicking the Search tab at the left instead, and then scroll down until you see "Made for You." That will take you to the full section where you should be able to find all of those playlists.

Alex_lewis

Thanks for telling me this, @dinomight! I can indeed see both playlists if I go to the Made for You section via the search tab - I never realised or noticed that I access it from there.

Once again, many thanks for your response!
