Performance issues on iOS devices

Hey folks,

 

We've received reports that iOS users are experiencing technical issues on their devices (running version 8.8.72.623 or higher). The app is crashing or the playback suddenly stops.

 

 This is being investigated.

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

 

We’re happy to say that this should be fixed in version 8.8.81.573. If you don't see a pending update, you can manually update from Spotify's App Store page.

Well, I mentioned getting a crash after several skips a while ago.. but now the while app is only giving me those mentioned three dots. happened directly after the last update a few days ago.. way to go!

 

how can it be this is taking so long to fix if it’s happing to so many people?

This bug needs to be fixed. I use Spotify on an iPad in my bar and the music just randomly stops throughout the day, EVERY SINGLE DAY. I have to restart the app or iPad several times a day. Spotify has updated 4 or 5 times in the last couple weeks and nothing has fixed this issue. Sometimes I wish I could be as bad at my job as Spotify’s app programmers are and still have a job. FIX IT.

Same here. We use it in a grocery store and have been having this problem.

I noticed that Spotify for IOS stops playing or crashes when downloading a playlist while listening to it. It’s reproducible, it happens on multiple devices , it’s been happening for months across multiple versions of Spotify, I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled multiple times, there is 150 gb free on my device, and I always have the latest iOS updates.

The Spotify app does crash on IOS iPhone 7S when I advance to the next track or when I go back to a previous track and when I keep advancing, a blank screen with a musical note displays and Spotify freezes up.  When I dismiss Spotify, the current track keeps playing then it will finally stop playing that track after a few minutes.  This is the same issue as I see in this forum.    However, Spotify plays normal on a computer.   Please let us know when this issue is resolved.  Thank you.

Same problem here (iphone 7plus)... it's been months with this now. Where's the fix???????

Since before September 27th I have not been able to play Spotify without it locking up. I’ve done everything I can do from here to troubleshoot it. It’s the same problem others are having. I have to go out and restart it but it just locks up again. IMG_1708.pngIMG_1776.png

Same issue for me. Plays a couple of songs, the stops, won’t allow me to skip forward or back. Hoping this is sorted soon
