Playlist not syncing across devices

Status: Case Closed
0 Likes

I have tried all of the suggest moves in the help forums (uninstalling/reinstalling, turning all devices into offline mode) and yet I still have a playlist on my PC that will not sync to my iphone or Mac. Please help me! The playlist on my phone says it has 36 songs and full playback, but only 12 songs show up (the ones I added to the playlist from my phone). If I try to play a song on my PC and then "connect" to my phone, it tells me the song is not available offline. I've tried downloading the playlist on all my devices and it just forever downloads, doesn't actually add any. I would really appreciate any help!

Hi @kschoon1! Thanks for writing in the Community.

Can you let us know the Spotify versions you're running on your devices? Also, send us your playlist's URI and we'll take a closer look at it.

We'll look forward to your response.

Thank you for your help! I've included the information you asked for below.

My phone has version 8.4.42.724.

My PC has version 1.0.75.483.g7ff4a0dc.

My mac has version 1.0.75.483.g7ff4a0dc.

Playlist link from PC which has the full playlist that won't sync to the other devices:  spotify:user:kschoon1:playlist:5nOPnk9X8QMdHfSxwYSu8m

Hey @kschoon1!

Thanks for getting back to us with this information.

Just to confirm, are the songs that don't sync part of your local files or songs from the Spotify catalog?

Also, are you sure you're logging into the same Spotify account on all devices? You may have multiple Spotify accounts that could be causing this.

Keep us posted.

These songs are part of the Spotify library. Also, only one Spotify account.

We understand @kschoon1.

We've taken a closer look at your playlist and can confirm that several songs from it are from an album that's not available in Spotify. In this case, try downloading these local files on your mobile device by following these steps.

Keep us in the loop.

Hi, thanks for the help. I’m just confused because I searched for these songs in Spotify and added the top result. I haven’t imported any local files into Spotify at any point. Is it possible these are another user’s shared files?

Also, I tried downloading the playlist to my mobile phone following the steps you referenced. It downloads the 12 songs I've always had access to on my mobile but does not download the other 24. They don't even show up as part of the playlist, though the playlist from the "playlist home screen" of my library says it has 36 songs total.

Got it @kschoon1.

We can confirm that the 24 songs in the album "Songs of the Eighties" are local files that were added to your playlist. You can play these songs on your PC app, as these files are stored there.

Remember that in order to sync these files on your mobile device, your PC and phone must be connected to the same WiFi network and both apps have to be open.

Try this again and let us know how it goes.
