Playlists not showing on Roku

Hey there folks,

You should be now able to view and search for playlists from Spotify directly on your Roku device.

If you're still having troubles, we'd suggest trying these steps first. If the issue persists, we'd recommend posting about this in the related Help Board. We'll be happy to lend a hand there!

Have a lovely day 🙂

Due to various technical challenges, the Playlists feature has been removed from the Roku Spotify app.

We do understand your concerns and are working with Roku on how best to move forward with this app. In the meantime, you can search for and play artists, songs and albums, and your playlists are always available on your other devices with our desktop and mobile apps.

There are other ways to listen to Spotify on your TV too. Check out our guide at www.spotify.com/tv.

We KNOW it's been removed! We want it back, or we aren't paying. You've charged us since you removed it, KNOWING what the problem was, and. It informing us. Your PAYING customers. We've paid for this.

"Technical challenges"? Baloney. You did it for years. Roku is how I use
Spotify. I will be terminating my subscription.

I dont understand why you got rid of it when I had no previous problems! Please enable the playlists! It is not that difficult to rollback a version. And I know, I am a programmer! Roku is the only way I listen at home!

In case you missed it, because the thread has been switched to "Closed" and neatly swept under the rug, the person or persons behind the curtain here posted this status update to our "Playlists not showing on Roku" thread:

Yup, so there you have it. At least they have owned up to the fact that this was done by Spotify, and is not something that can be "fixed" by the users.

RIP Spotify for Roku, as everyone on here agrees, it's basically worthless without the playlists functionality.  RIP my love for Spotify. Tidal here I come.

I'm canceling my account as it is made clear by @Rorey @__spo__ that no fix for Roku Playlist functionality having been removed is anywhere on their radar. He lays half of the "technical challenges" problem at Roku's feet, and anyone with half a brain knows this isn't a Roku problem, so why would they get involved at all? For it to have taken as long as it did for ANYONE from Spotify to respond to this prolonged problem is of itself indicative of their larger problems and disconnect from their paid subscribers. So long, Spotify, Rdio I miss you, Deezer here I come.

Bigpadg

I'm Deezer bound myself, and am quitting not because they'll never put Playlists back on Roku, but because it took them so long to accept responsibility after putting so many people through so much BS. Deezer doesn't have a US Roku app either, but I'm making my decision based on principle. And imho, Spotify is unprincipled.

Bigpadg

And I also notice they lay half of the responsibility at Roku's feet, btw, which is total **bleep** that anyone with half a brain can see through.

So, I've read complaints about playlists not loading on Roku but my playlists just dont show up all together. In the little menu section the only options are search, what's new, top tracks and accounts (if I'm playing something then theres a now playing option). Is this happening to anyone else or do you know how to fix it?

So, wait... it's gone from Roku and not coming back in the near future? That is so messed up!! I used it all the time! AND, even just searching a track I wanted to listen to couldn't pull it up. Epic fail, Spot.
