Podcast "Recently Updated" list not updating

We've received some reports that the podcast "Recently Updated" list is not updating.

Any updates? I'm clearly not the only user with this issue.

For the past two weeks the Recently Updated lists for Podcasts under Your Library has not been accurate. I've updated the app twice since noticing this issue. The most recently updated podcasts are not appearing in update order. For example, multiple podcasts have added an episode today, but in the Recently Updated list it shows those podcasts haven't updated since mid December.

I have this too on latest IOS and Spotify updates, so frustrating as you’ll miss episodes nothing updates without clicking in and when you’re following 20 plus shows this just shouldn’t happening.

I, too, have been having this issue for months and have wasted hours with Spotify support chat and gone through all of the troubleshooting steps multiple times, including two clean uninstall and reinstalls. When, if ever, does Spotify plan to address this issue?

My Question or Issue

I recently switched from android to iPhone and Spotify has been the worst experience so far. I’ve tried making sure everything is up to date (it always is), I’ve reinstalled the app, I’ve restarted the phone and it continues. I almost exclusively use Spotify to listen to podcasts and use the new episode list for this as I listen to a lot of different shows, some paid, some free, some free with paid episodes I don’t pay for. I only use Spotify on mobile as I can’t download Spotify on my work computer and I basically never use my personal computer like this. 

here are the issues I’m having

1) spotify will often skip the next episode in the new episodes list and play a random episode in the list. Most often the newest episode but not always. There’s no rhyme or reason to this. I have not hit play next or anything like that. Sometimes it happens after I stop the episode multiple times and restart it over long periods of time, sometimes it will just do it for an episode I played straight through. 
2) if it doesn’t play a random episode it will play an episode from a podcast I don’t subscribe to, specifically podcasts I unsubscribed to months or even a year ago. These episodes are not leftovers in the queue and are new episodes for shows I have actively showed I am not interested in by unsubscribing.  I do not want to turn off the ability for it to play related content because the rare times I do use Spotify for music I want to be able to select one song and have it continue playing related music. This was never an issue on android beyond MAYBE once a quarter or so when a random episode would start and at least the random episodes were somewhat interesting. Now it’s weekly if not daily and mostly podcasts I unsubscribed to. 
3) it stops randomly, particularly when I link to my car’s Bluetooth and cannot be resumed by asking Siri to resume. Nothing happens and I have to exit out of maps or whatever else several times to restart it, then have it stop again, then restart it again. I do not use the car thing as it won’t seem to connect to my car though it did with my android. 
4) lastly, I am begging Spotify to either let you remove paid episodes for shows you are not a paid subscriber to from mobile or make it so it just moves on to the next free episode instead of stopping. 
 


im about ready to switch to something else. 

Episodes of Emma Chamberlains podcast are not showing up on Spotify, even though I know they have been released. They were tea leased 3 days ago and still have no appeared on my Spotify. I have tried to log in and out, delete the app, and clear the cache and none of it is working.

Same problem.... why am i paying premium when your feature with podcasts, can't be updated by date?

same problem for me: "recently updated" does not show me the podcasts with recent episodes. Only when I "manually" go inside a single (updated) podcast, then the "recently updated" list sees that update (but not others)

Same issue. Need to tap into each pod just see if a new ep was released, otherwise stays fixed. Any update here?
