Premium for students not letting me pay

Hello! I’ve used the 3 month trial before, and now that i’m a student and eligible for a student discount, It won’t let me pay, saying I have used the 3 month discount before. I’m just trying to get my 50% off, everything is verified and my bank account is fine. When I try to click on the error message that says “you aren’t eligible for this offer, but you might be eligible for the student discount instead”, it takes me to the same payment page, including the 3 month free trial in the beginning. i’ve tried using different browsers, on my mac and iphone. it doesn’t work

Could you try the same thing using a private window or a different browser? If that doesn't help, could you send me a screenshot of the error message shown? Make sure to hide sensitive info when posting to the Community.

Can you let us know if there's any difference when you try subscribing to Premium Student with this link? It's best to try it in an Incognito Window.

 

Let us know if you get an error message of any kind. You're welcome to send screenshots too, as long as they don't contain any sensitive info such as date of birth, email and so on.

Can you tell us what steps you've tried so far?  

 

It'd be great if you can check what happens when you open an Incognito Window and try to purchase Premium Student there. If you still get an error message, let us know what it says, you can also send us a screenshot.

I tried your links, didn't work either unfortunately (tried them in 2 different browsers as well as incognito in both browsers). Wouldn't it be much easier if there were options without 3 month trial (or they disappear when you are no longer eligible)? Is there anything else I can try? Thanks for the help so far!

Thanks for sharing this here in the Community - we've passed this on to our tech teams who are looking into this!

 

If you're also having troubles upgrading for Premium Student without availing of the 3-month offer, we'd recommend adding your +VOTE to this Ongoing Issue.

 

It'd be also very helpful if you could try the steps below:

  1. Open an incognito or private window in your browser
  2. Copy/paste the link in a tab in this window: www.spotify.com/student
  3. Log in to your account and follow through the steps.

If that doesn't help, you can also try upgrading from this link in a new incognito window, log in with your Spotify account, then click "Change Plan" and select Premium for Students from the available plans.

 

If none of the above help, please share a screenshot of the error message you see (including the URL you're on when this happens) in a comment below so we can pass it along to the right teams. Just make sure that no private/sensitive info is displayed.

I FOUND A SOLUTION!

I however tried to change browsers, go incognito mode, delete my history, delete cache, borrow laptops and phones, absolutely nothing worked.

 

My friend told me that spotify has a live customer support, so I tried. I went to this part of spotify’s website (https://www.spotify.com/us/about-us/contact/) and clicked number 3. under “customer service and support). I then explained my question to the support, and they fixed it for me in under 10 minutes!
