Problems with bringing the family-subscription together

Hello guys,

 

Yesterday, I bought the family-spotify so that my sister and me could save some money.

 

I have tried both to send her an invite and send her the link.

In both cases the browser just shows:

 

"Cannot join Premium for Family 😞

 

Sorry! You're already a member of this (or another) Family plan. Please click below to switch to the account that you want to join to the Family plan".

 

However, the problem seems to be that she's not already a part of a Family plan.

When we goes to her account, it just shows that she's a premium member.

And she only has one spotify-account.

 

Has anyone else experienced this?

And how do we solve this?

She needs to cancel her subscription so her account goes back to Free.

 

To cancel and delete her payment info:

 

1. Go to your Subscription and payment overview --> http://spotify.com/account/subscription/

2. Click UPDATE DETAILS. If it shows below 'Would you like to cancel your subscription?' click there and cancel.

3. Check the box to 'Remove', and click 'Change' button,

 
Note: If you have your Premium active you won't be able to remove your payment info. That's why it's important to cancel before clicking UPDATE DETAILS.

I switched my Spotify Premium account to Spotify Family, sent invitations but when invitations are accepted, a message comes up with 

 

"Sorry! You're already a member of this (or another) Family plan. Please click below to switch to the account that you want to join to the Family plan."

 

When I go back into my account, it is set up as Family but invitations are still sitting at pending!!!!

Each family member has to have a separate username and password. So the first step is to create new accounts for each new member (if they haven't already).

 
I suggest creating it with an email address (not the one used for fb, if possible), since they'll be able to pick a Spotify username / password. Using Facebook will not let you do that, and that sometimes causes problems.
 
Each member will now have a Free account, so the next step is for them to join your Family plan through your account (You're the one who pays, so you'll be the Family Admin).
 
Send the invites to the emails they used to create their accounts. Let them accept the invite logged in with their own username, and you'll be set. Each will be able to listen to music at the same time, and will have separate libraries, playlists and friends.
