Random music playing, nothing on playlist playing

Hello I am having an issue where whenever I press shuffle play on a playlist, Spotify plays random music instead of whatever is on the playlist. I have turned off auto play but it is still playing only music that is not on my playlist. I do not have premium but previously this has never been an issue. Please help I just want to listen to my music.

Could you let us know what device, operating system and Spotify version you're using? Also, do you remember if this started happening after a specific update or event? Maybe the steps here could help you with this.
