Re: Only the web player affects home hub shortcuts

Everything is enabled/allowed.

And that doesn’t explain why listening music on any of my desktop apps don’t affect the shortcut suggestions. Maybe that's because Recently Played music doesn't sync to the web player as well? So if web player doesn't see any listening history then it doesn't offer anything new in the shortcuts as well?

I did a video for you. Explanation to the video:

1. I start playing Your Time Capsule in my Mac's desktop app.

2. Then I open the web player where it shows Your Time Capsule in the Recently Played section

3. Then I switch back to the desktop app and close it

4. Then I switch back to the web player and refresh the page

5. And the Your Time Capsule is gone from the Recently Played section in the web player

Notice the other playlists in the Recently Played section. I listened to them in the web player and they synced to the desktop and mobile apps just fine.

So yeah, it seems to be that something is broken with history sync between platforms and that also affects the shortcut suggestions.

Few weeks later and now running:

Win - 1.1.60.668.gff09d345-a

Mac - 1.1.60.668.gff09d345-a

iOS - 8.6.32.570

Issue is still not fixed. Home hub shortcuts only update when listening with the web player and listening history still showing only list of tracks:

I can confirm I have also tried all of the above steps (clean re-install and checking iOS permissions) and I have the same type of behavior with my Home Screen screen shortcuts.

Is this issue just being ignored?

So a month of silence and still a broken feature.

I’ve been listening to music on my phone all week. Then my friend sends me one album that opens on my computer via the web player. I listen to it for about 20 seconds and now that’s the ONLY shortcut on my Home Screen now. Such a broken “feature”

Apparently, it has stopped updating on the web player now, at least for me. Hasn't changed for 2 days.

This hasn’t worked on my account for over 6 months… I’d rather it not be there at all as opposed to taking up the top of my home page with useless recommendations.

Is there any way to get around this? Will making a new account fix it?

@spiffydeanIt won't, this is the 3rd account I've made because of this issue. You're stuck with it until a fix is rolled out.

spiffydean

We’re now over a year since this has worked on my account, and over 6 months since this thread pointed out this issue. The statement that “the right people are looking into this issue” is such a joke.

unlikely, but has anybody’s account started working properly?
