Recently played artists section not updating

We've been seeing reports from users that the recently played artists on their profile are not updating, while recently played in listening history is working as expected.

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

 

We’re happy to say that this should now be fixed for everyone! Just make sure your app is updated to the latest version.

@1Dx Me too, I'm still having the same problem. I use IOS, but I tried it on my desktop version as well and it didn't work. But when I use the search bar/artist page to stream a song it shows up on my profile. Which is frustrating to me because I use playlists regularly.

@Maria I'm still having the issue with the widget on iOS 18.1. My software and my app are totally up to date. Is there going to be a fix soon?

Once again the recently played artists and the listening history are not updating. Why is this breaking so often anymore?

Same here. I suspect that this bug has something to do with the monthly update of iOS.

It is the same for me, not working.

I've found that it only updates for me when I click the big green play button on the artist's page. It does not update when you click play on an album or individual song. This is maybe why they believe it to be fixed, but it is not. Most people do not listen to an artist by shuffling their music or playing it in order of popularity.

 

As a temporary fix for myself, I usually hit the big green play button on the artist page before immediately after playing one of their albums.

@Voltaiasame thing for me, but it's working normally again for me but when I do get this issue, I press the green play button on the artist page and clear the queue, and add the playlist or album I want to the queue. This is the only fix I found, sometimes it takes ages to update streams, sometimes it doesn't,  sometimes it shows up on Spotify but not apps like stats.fm, which is reallg weird.

I reported it already, and still not resolved, my release radar and discover weekly showing as someone else's and I have to search for my own to find it. I changed the password multiple times now on all devices, cleared cookies, and still the same.
