Recently played artists section not updating

We've been seeing reports from users that the recently played artists on their profile are not updating, while recently played in listening history is working as expected.

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

 

We’re happy to say that this should now be fixed for everyone! Just make sure your app is updated to the latest version.

I'm on iOS and the issue's been fixed with the recent updates.

Seriously like why l... the artist update does work but why does it take couple of mins or so to update. Before that was never the case but now its constant.

 

The phone update is fine nothing wrong with that. 

 

What are we all paying for.!

Thanks for the patience while this is being looked into.

 

Could you confirm that the songs from the artist(s) you expect to see in the recently played artists section were played in full? The team have confirmed that if only a part of the song has been played, they might not appear.

same. but the issue is only when I play on the desktop app. using my iPad, phone, or the web player... the recently played artists do get updated. On my desktop Mac, it neither updates on the App, nor show in my last.fm or Airbuds. It doesn't update anywhere. So the hearing time isn't counted anywhere.

Hi Maria,

Thank you for looking into this.

For most if the time, a song only played for 10 sec got shown in the
“recently played artists”.

For other times, the artist would not be listed minutes after the song was
finished.

In fact, there can be 2-3 songs of delay in showing an artist whose song
was played a while ago.

Not sure whether the lag is on the server’s end or the stability of the
internet connection.

Please my streams counts are not reflecting on my streams on Spotify, is still showing (1,000 ) nothing is adding please why is that it there is an issues to resolve please let me know. My streams are organic no bot or any kind of manipulation on streaming. So please check it. here is my artist profile link

Hi @Maria issue seems to have returned yet again… artist list not updating after playing music.

I don't know whats gone wrong with Spotify since September. 

Absolute nonse it does not seem to update properly for both recently played artist and played song. 

On top to make things worse the app stops and would need to go back into the app. 

What are we paying for.

This has still not been addressed -my Recently Played showing I have not listened to in 3 months - literally hundreds of selections more recent -it still shows the same one item from many months ago nothing else listed

Same issue with recently played albums too. If you don't play it directly from the library itself, it won't count it which is pretty dumb
