Went to listen through my Roku today and "Search" isn't working / is crashing with:
Error searching. (code 16.1)"
This is happening on both of my Roku 3's, my Roku Premiere+ and my Roku Stick.
Though I could give a darn about the "What's New" feature, it also says:
"No content available
No content loaded.
Please try again later."
"Top Tracks" appears to be working, but I would never listen to anything there.
First my playists are taken away from the Roku App and now I can't even search?!?! This basically makes it impossible to listen to anything I WANT on my Roku devices.
Really disappointed in Spotify!
We're just checking in to let you know that we're closing this thread up.
Our tech team have been looking into things, and this should now be fixed.
We've also had reports from many of you confirming this, and we appreciate you letting us know.
In the meantime, we also noticed some recent comments about playlists on Roku in this thread. We have some more info on this here. Give us a shout if you have any other questions in the future. We appreciate your patience while this was looked into.
I am having the same issue (code 16.1) tried reinstalling and restarting my ROKU and still having a problem
WHEN IN THE WORLD ARE YOU GUYS GOING TO FIX YOUR ROKU APP?!?
YOUR ROKU APP DOES NOT WORK!!!!!
IT SAYS THAT YOUR ROKU APP IS ONLY VERSION 1.1, WHICH ACCORDING TO OUR RECORDS, HASN'T BEEN UPDATED IN OVER 5 YEARS!!
WE HAVE A ROKU 2, AND YOUR SPOTIFY APP ONLY GIVES US ERROR MESSAGES AND TELLS US "NO CONTENT AVAILABLE".
FIX YOUR ROKU APP!!! UPDATE IT!!! JESUS, IS THIS THE KIND OF CONTEMPT THAT YOU SHOW TOWARDS YOUR PAYING PREMIUM CUSTOMERS?
YOU ARE GOING TO FORCE US TO SWITCH TO PANDORA PREMIUM, WHICH WORKS JUST FINE ON THE ROKU.
I pointed out the same thing yesterday. This will shock you, but the moderators seem to be ignoring these threads.
An update from Spotify has been posted here:
"Due to various technical challenges, the Playlists feature has been removed from the Roku Spotify app.
We do understand your concerns and are working with Roku on how best to move forward with this app. In the meantime, you can search for and play artists, songs and albums, and your playlists are always available on your other devices with our desktop and mobile apps.
There are other ways to listen to Spotify on your TV too. Check out our guide at www.spotify.com/tv."
@MattSuda This issue is NOT the same as the Playlists not showing. That's already been, closed, I get that. But what he is posting about, and what I was posting about is that SEARCH NO LONGER WORKS ON ROKU. Remeber how you said:
SEARCH IS NOT WORKING. THERE IS LITERALLY NO WAY TO ACCESS ANY CONTENT ON THE ROKU APP.
I'm having the same issues. Any luck figuring out what the problem is?
I'm having the same issue - the other problem here is that the moderators think that this is the same problem that we have with Playlists a few weeks back. I started a thread a few days ago about this very issue, as did someone else. My thread was merged with a closed one, the other thread was declared "Closed"
IF YOU ARE A MODERATOR AND YOU ARE READING THIS, PLEASE UNDERSTAND - THIS IS NOT THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE PLAYIST ISSUE. THE PROPOSED "WORK AROUND" TO PLAYLISTS BEING REMOVED FROM THE ROKU APP WAS TO SIMPLY USE "SEARCH". THIS WAS THE SOLUTION PROPOSED BY SPOTIFY MODERATORS. THE PROBLEM NOW IS THAT SEARCH NO LONGER WORKS. SEE??? NEW PROBLEM. NOT OLD PROBLEM. GET IT??? I GET THE SAME ERROR MESSAGE THIS PERSON DOES. AS THESE FOLKS AND I HAVE POINTED OUT, THE ONLY CONTENT YOU CAN ACCESS ON ROKU NOW IS THE "TOP 20" TRACKS. THAT IS LITERALLY THE ONLY CONTENT NOW AVAILABLE THROUGH ROKU. I WAS A HAPPY PAYING PREMIUM CUSTOMER FOR THE LAST FIVE YEARS. I CANCELLED TODAY BECAUSE OF THIS VERY ISSUE.
Sorry about that. I have reopened this thread.
Can you please explain the problem you are having in more detail? Is the search not working?
Thanks for clarifying that this is not the same issue as the missing playlists @FGravity
I have forwarded this on to be looked into. I'll post back if I have any updates.
