Segfault with local files

Operating System Version: Fedora 21

Spotify Version: 1.0.19.106.gb8a7150f

Description: Segfaukt when playing local files

To reproduce:

1. Open spotify
2. Click local files
3. Select any track and click play (or double-click)
4. Segfault

Workaround:

 None

Thanks for bringing this up and welcome to the Community.

We're marking this as "Not an Issue" right now, as we don't officially support Linux. But one of our Community members has posted this thread with some helpful info 🙂

Well given I've read that thread and done as instucted (reported an issue) that's a bit rubbish!

Being supported or not, this is a real issue for me for sure.

Because this happens whenever spotify tries to play any song it also found in my local collection, e.g. when listening to a rdio station.

Effectively that means regular and unpredictable crashes.

The only way to mitigate that that I found was renaming my ~/Music folder to something else so spotif doesn't pick up the local files.

Needless to say that's a bad workaround since it confuses the hell out of any other applications that expect my music to be at ~/Music

@black_puppydog go the Spotify options and remove ~/Music from "Local Files", this should ensure that Spotify no longer sees your local music.

But I agree, it's unfortunate that this bug is simply ignored.
