Shuffle bug for large playlists

I noticed that when I play from my larger playlists on shuffle, the range of songs it plays is limited to one section that's only about 10% of the entire list. For example, if I play an artist at the top of the playlist, it'll only play songs from the top 10% of the list. I noticed this because I sort the list alphabetically so if I'm playing an artist that starts with B, it'll only play artists ranging from A to C on shuffle. Why doesn't the shuffle option choose a song the entire list at random rather than sticking to a limited section and picking from there?

That's great to hear @shplane!

Hi @shplane, welcome to the Spotify Community!

Just to confirm, does it happen with all playlist or just one? If just one, send us the URI link of the playlist to check it from our end. From the desktop app right-click the playlist > Share > URI or Copy Link.

Also, does it happen from a different device?

Keep us posted.

Hi Julian,

Thanks for following up. I tried other lists and on my phone, and it looks like the problem is just with this playlist on this device. Here's the link-

Is there a setting option that I'm not aware of that causes this?

Leonardo

Thanks @shplane!

Indeed, this seems a bit odd.

I suggest you try a clean reinstall and see if it helps. This usually fixes most problems 🙂

Note: This will remove any saved offline tracks and cache.

Hope this helps.

That seems to do the trick. Thanks for your help!
