Shuffle is not shuffling as you say it should

Status: Not An Issue

I read the blog (Spotify Randomness Blog) and I am confused as to why my playlist will generate the below. My searching either yeilds the above linked blog, or it sends me to links stating that the spotify random works as intended, that is to say shuffles artists so that their songs are spaced out over the entire queue, and yet I get these clusterings. In fact if I shuffle the queue again, it will often generate the same clusters of songs, always Mosh, and all ways the same three songs, though not necessarily in the same order.
PROOF:
Proof that shuffle is not working as intended(Notice the double clustering of Mosh)

I would really enjoy an explanation of either how this is intended behaviour, or how this is supposed to work, would love to know how you handle random now, if it has changed. Otherwise, please make this go away.

Hey @user-removed!

We’ve recently made some improvements to our shuffle algorithm. We’d love to hear your feedback here: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Implemented-Ideas/Implement-an-actual-shuffle-function/idc-p/1286185/highlight/true#M16718.

Have a nice day 🙂
