Shuffle on large playlist only shuffling from a few artists

I have a playlist over 9,000 songs from many artists. Starting a couple of weeks ago, when I shuffle the playlist the same artists are showing up, even the same albums. Attached is an example of the top of my queue, with over 9,000 songs on the playlist, this should be a random selection of artists and albums, something is seriously broken.

Hi @whitesd2! Thanks for writing on the Community.

Can you let us know which operating system and Spotify version you're using? Also, does this happen when you're using Spotify Connect to control your app with another device? Let's try reinstalling the app to see if this helps.

Same for me and many others. This appears to be an ongoing problem that never seems to get fixed.

When you have shuffle selected on a play list or song list it only shuffles about the first 100 songs or so. 

This is so frustrating because like you, I have a couple of thousand songs but never hear most of them because shuffle doesnt actually shuffle them all! Seems like such a basic function and I cannot understand why it doesn't get fixed.

Please sort this out!!
