My Question or Issue

Since latest updates streaming to chromecasts have stopped working from the Android phone, it plays a song, then 30-40s into the next one it disconnects.
It can be resolved by having the desktop client running on a machine in the network and you utilize the phone app purely as a remote. But on its own its not capable of keeping the connection running anymore.

I've got a similar issue but it isn't actually disconnecting from Chromecast. When I start a song from Spotify on my phone it takes a good 40 seconds before it will start on Chromecast.  When it goes to the next song on the playlist it again pauses for about 40 seconds. On the phone I can see the progress bar moving in the Spotify app but no music plays from Chromecast. Then suddenly the progress bar will go back to the beginning and the music starts.  My WiFi is solid as is my download speed of 60 Mbps. Using android on my phone but it does the same with iPhones in the household too. Happens with other Google cast devices as well ie Google home hub.  All apps and op systems are up-to-date as is Chromecast firmware.

It's like the Chromecast is buffering or not able to pull the song from the cloud instantly.

Hi,

Spotify on both my MacBook and IPhone are cutting out around 20 seconds into a song after playing a couple songs, this has just started last night (Saturday 20th July). I have noticed that it seems to be doing this on my “Liked Songs” playlist and not actual downloaded playlist on my phone, they’re playing fine. I do know I’m running off the latest version of the apps as I’ve seen the changes.

As well my Alexa doesn’t seem to open Spotify with ease like it use to (that could be the Alexa though, I find it’s a questionable device at times)

thanks
