Songs aren't streaming on Apple Watch

Hey folks,

We're getting reports from Apple Watch users that songs aren't streaming.

Stay tuned to the Status Update for more info.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your patience and input so far.

We're setting this issue to Not Right Now as we're unable to provide an exact timeline for a fix at this moment. However, rest assured this will remain on our internal teams' radar and we'll check back in here with a new status when we have any new information to share.

In the meantime, make sure to always keep the app up to date.

Take care.

I will not do Factory Reset until I can be 100 % sure that it works.  The Apple Watch works well so I do not see any reason to do Factory Reset.

No need for Factory Reset as I thought. I found that unistalling and reisntalling Spotify to Apple Watch solved this problem. Now Watch works correclty also with cellular data

NONE of the above worked for me. The Spotify music will NOT play through the Apple Watch. Nothing works. Which enables me to assume it’s still Spotify not fixing the issue after the most recent Apple Watch update was suppose to do that. I have an Apple Watch Ultra and the first day of using the watch and Spotify it worked perfectly. A week later without any additional configuration, the watch will not play the music itself. With many different settings being tried. I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max latest software version and same for the Apple Watch and Spotify on there. Literally everything is updated and whenever I select the output option from the Spotify app on the Apple Watch, it will not play through the Apple Watch after I clearly select the Apple Watch to play from. It pops up the device menu and I have the option of my AirPods, Apple TV and other Bluetooth speakers. It will not play through the Apple Watch when you select the Apple Watch.

Updating to Watch OS 9.0.2 did not fix the issue for me either. This is extremely frustrating.

Hey Yordan,

I have the same issue on my brand new watch 8 with 9.0.2 and iphone with 9.0.3 ver.

I would like to add  a different case that might enlight your idea... we should divide case into two parts.

Part 1- Even we are connected to phone and same wifi network, our spotify on watch never select with a green connected symbol for for our apple watches. Eventhough we have seen our playlists etc.... we have just run it via phone over spotify on watch.

part 2-  when we are using it over only cellular or only any other wifi network without connecting to our phone and same wifi area, watch can not show even playlist though. It seems running and trying to get playlist but failed...

Let me make it clear that, I have a mi box in my home wifi network and when I checked on my watch, it shows third option to play over and when I chosed it, it works and I can play my existing playlist over mi-box and get sounds from TV speakers as usual. But we are in same wifi with phone, mi box and watch .

I have tried reset my watch two times. delete spotify and download using my watch app store. deleted again and install over watch app on my phone by manually.  All seems do not work...

I have a radio app and its working with same interface with spotify where we are selecting device. I chosed there my watch and app working well with my BT earbuds.

Awaiting your comments or suggestions.

Dear AlejaR,

I did it. Reset to factory settings my watch and repaired with my phone again. I especialy restart my phone before pairing.

But it does not work. I think with 9.0.2 version apple watches are closed to cellular data transfer for third party apps.

But wierd thing is our watche 8 does not work properly while connected tou our phones or in case of same wifi coverage. We can not chose apple watch on sporify app with turning it green. it always stays white and blinking. But when I try to connect it to my mi-box, it can be selected and connected to mi-box as turning green icon.

Friend,

I did the same on watch but I have still same issue. do you confirm if you have unisntalled from watch and reinstall by using app store over watch or did you do them on your spotify phone app?

Eni
