Spotify Connect - Radio station not loading new songs

When I use Spotify Connect to connect to my Yamaha Receiver, radio stations do not load more songs when the current playlist runs out. This is true for any playlist with the similar songs feature turned on. When the playlist ends, the music stops playing, but the Spotify app seems to be stuck. The play/pause button continues to show a pause symbol, the timer does not count, and the progress bar stays at 100% full. Pressing next on the controls does nothing, and the bottom of the playlist continues to show "More songs load as you listen". This happens for the Android, iOS, and Windows clients.

Looking at the receiver, the song shows as Paused. If I press play using the remote it replays the last song. When I press next, it pauses the song again. This definitely acts like this is the last song in a playlist.

This is similar to this issue, but I'm unable to reply to that thread.

As instructed in the status update, I've verified that my receiver's firmware is up to date.

I reported this as an issue several weeks ago and it has apparently been going on for some time. It seems that even with their best techs they have not been able to fix it as it is still not working correcxtly on my receiver.

I have even checked and it says running the latest firmware version.

Just by having a moderator say it is fixed and then closing an issue doesn't actually mean it is fixed.

Spotify have told us several times they are looking into this yet so far no sign of anyone doing anything to fix this. When is this issue likely to be fixed?

Still happening. Anyone look into fixin this yet? It's been happening to me several times a day for weeks. I have to close the app on my phone and computer to get it going again. That is NOT a solution for a service I'm paying for. I use Spotify to drown out distractions while I write software (that works) but Spotify is becoming the distraction.

This is still an issue after 'looking into it' for more than a year...

Will this be fixed in our lifetime?

It deeply hurts my experience, that this feature is lacking. Some insight into why we haven't received an update for a year would be very helpful

It's 2020 now - 3 years have passed and the problem still persists. Is it really not possible to fix this?
