My Question or Issue

 

Spotify connect is not working when trying to connect to any device.  I can only connect via by bluetooth.  This all happened all of a sudden at 5:30pm Est time.

Hi there! Norwegian user here. This issue started this afternoon for me (May 19th, CET). No Spotify client can connect to any Spotify Connect devices anymore. The Spotify Connect receivers aren't even visible in the Connect to device list. We have the same issue on Windows 10, iOS and Android. All of them the latest version. I know it worked fine this morning. I never had the issue before.

What has worked for me recently is a multistep process. Open Spotify in
Soundtouch or Roku or on PC, as the case may be. Start any song. Then,
open Spotify app on phone or iPad. Spotify will have a popup saying you're
already listening on Soundtouch, or Roku or PC and ask you whether you want
to continue listening on that device or on your phone or iPad. If you
select continue, you can then select a different song, album or playlist in
the Spotify app and when you play it, it will continue on your Soundtouch,
or Roku device or PC. It works but it's a pain and should not be
necessary.

No response. I thought my situation will be common. Start my work in the morning on my computer, fire a Spotify playlist to play music on my Sonos speakers. This is still not working and it used to work 2 weeks ago. Frustrating that I can't get a simple thing like that to work and there is no response.  All I get now is a message that "Spotify is not active on this device". I can get the same connection to work when I use Spotify on my iPhone.

Hi, here in Italy stil doesn’t work with any of my echo devices.

it works only with the Spotify account linked in the amazon account. Any other family plan account can’t reach anymore the echo devices through WiFi.

when we say: “Alexa, Spotify connect” the echo performs only a bluetooth search.

Can you please investigate?

I have a similar issue with my iPhone 7 Plus. I can only play it on my phone or through Bluetooth. The other two devices I normally connect to are in grey so I can’t even click on them and it says Can’t play this right now. I tried rebooting my device and that didn’t help
