Spotify Connect on Marantz NA6005

Status: Case Closed



I have said device perfectly configured, it is on the same wi-fi, internet radio works flawlessly, DLNA servers too, Spotify on the PC and mobile devices (Android) "sees" it as available to be connected with. But as soon as I choose to "Spotify connect" with it, it just stops doing, what it was doing (playing radio), freezes for brief moment then just retries to resume previously interrupted function (internet radio). Playback on PC/Smartdevice doesn't even stop when Spotify connect is executed. It just displays "connecting..." for a very brief moment and then continues to do, what it was doing as if Spotify connect was never called out in the first place, also not showing Marantz in available devices anymore.

 The Marantz itself seems to lose connection with attempt of connecting to it, then reestablishing it soon afterwards (but I can't be 100% sure, if it really loses connection).


Does any owner of Marantz NA6005 or similar experienced such issue?

Does anyone have a solution to this?


I can assure that I'm using latest firmware on A/V and I have updated Spotify on every device as well. I use family premium account. And yes - it was working fine when I first bought Spotify Premium back in april 2016. It just suddenly stoped working anymore somewhere around september/ october.

I have just bought a Marantz NA6005 and I have to try one,two three times every time with spotify connect and bluetooth not any better so I am quite disappointed ... the unit is wired with cable direct to my router .. the unit freeze or spin in the same mode ... The bluetooth paring mode some time gives a pin kode and sometime not it is a pain  .. I use a Windows 10 PC with spotify app to connect.

Hi! I've exactly the same problem. Marantz NA6005 not playing Spotify when I trying to listen. Latest Upgrade on both Ios and Marantz....


I'm looking to buy a Marantz NA6005 specifically so that I can select and play my spotify playlists independantly from my smartphone or PC.  Has the problem you were experiencing been fixed please?

I have the same issue, it seems that spotify has changed the way they connect to devices. If this is true I will cancel my suscription and change to other music app. this is unbelivable, how can they do this being a worldwide service?


I have the same problem. Any solutions? When can we expect any action because using Marantz NA6005 with Spotify is no longer possible?


I have the same problem but note:


Marantz says (a month ago) that the device supports Spotify Connect whereas Spotify says (today) that the device does not and has never supported Spotify Connect. Where are we with this?
