Spotify Connect with Bose Soundtouch

Since Friday April 7th, I've had issues remote controling my Bose speaker with Spotify mobile and desktop apps.

I am a premium member, I see the speaker in the device list within the apps, select it, and it is stuck on "Connecting".

Sometimes, I can get 2 separate instances of spotify running at the same time(phone and speaker playing different content at the same time).

The native Spotify app within the speaker plays fine, but Spotify does not recognize my speaker playing anything and hangs on connecting.

Hey all!

Alright, Spotify is aware of this issue and looking into this. You can keep an eye on this page for updates. I’ll be here if you need anything else.

Have a great day! 🙂

Hi,

I am encountering the similar sort of problem when using Bose Soundtouch system to play the Spotify's songs via the Preset.  Most of the time the connection would drop off after Bose started streaming the music for a while and flash the message "Speaker is playing on other source" on the apps.  I am sure the cause behind this was neither network connection or problem with Bose.  This is becase the Bose system was able to stream music from internet radio.

All the while I was subscribing premium service directly through Spotify until mid of last month when I decided to subscribe the Spotify premium servia via Singtel (telco provider).  It was about the same  time I started to experience this problem. As such, I suspect this is one possible cause.

Still working on this I presume?  SoundTouch with addition speaker in another room has more issues when using Spotify from within Spotify app in iPhone 7.

cannot control speakers correctly. Can get them both playing at same time but after using Spotify app for a few songs one of the speakers with stop playing.

i have tried various combinations of using SoundTouch to control versus Spotify (from phone.  Volume control is a real problem and unit is almost unusable.

We we love our Bose gear, but have to say that others seeing these issues would quell any interest to go Bose.  Software engineers should evaluate these significant interface issues now.  Cannot really play music in two rooms until this is solved.

Hello, sorry if I jump into your conversation with a different subject also concerning the Soundtouch app. Could somebody explain how to play a dj session without any pause between the tracks? Thanks for your help.
