My Question or Issue

new update has arrived. but, I always get the same error. "It seems like the Spotify Updater wasn't able to start properly. Do you want to wait a bit more?"

Hi !

Unfortunaltly it does not wok : a window appears saying that Spotify must be installed under a USER account, and NOT AS ADMINISTRATOR.

So, i installed Spotify from the file you gave me, and same result : the Updater can't update. ^^

Visibly, something wrong has been changed in the update procedure...

Please fix it.

Öncelikle merhaba, bu sorun bende de vardı ve sorunu çözmek için burada yazan yazmayan her şeyi denemiş ama çözememiştim bir türlü. Az önce denemediğim bir şeyi denedim ve Spotify kendi kendini güncellemeyi başardı. 

Bendeki sorun şuymuş: 

Spotify güncelleme yapacağı zaman setup dosyasını ve bu dosyanın hangi dosyada bulunduğunu içeren bir json dosyasını şu klasöre koyuyor:

C:\Users\Buğra\AppData\Local\Spotify\Update

Ancak path içinde "ğ" harfi olduğu için sıkıntı çıkıyor güncellemede.

Yaptığım şey şu oldu:

bu json dosyasını notepad ile açıp setup dosyasının bulunduğu yeri C: klasörü olarak değiştirdim, yani aradaki şu kısmı sildim: Users\Buğra\AppData\Local\Spotify\Update

Ve ardından setup dosyasını C: klasörüne koydum.

Sonrasında da Spotify'ı açtım ve kendini güncelledi.

I had been tried to solve this problem for a week and I applied all the known methods but I couldn't find a valid solution until minutes ago.

I realized that Spotify puts the update file and a json file about the update at this location in my computer:

C:\Users\Buğra\AppData\Local\Spotify\Update

As you can see, the character "ğ" makes trouble for Spotify. If you have a character like that in your user file path, then the that might be the problem.

Let's get to the solution:

Go that folder and find the json file and open it with a notepad. Then change the default path with deleting this part: Users\Buğra\AppData\Local\Spotify\Update

Also put the update file to C: folder, or the folder you write on json.

Lastly open Spotify and done. Spotify updates itself without any error messages.

not possible to update december 2018....latest update.....deleted and reinstalled...does not help....still ask if I wanna update and the same problems over again...windows 10 pc.....

As a deleted post suggested, running the update file on C:\Users\XXXXXXX\AppData\Local\Spotify\Update worked for me.

Every time when I post the solution, it is deleted automatically. I don't understand what is going on.
