Spotify app is skipping after a few seconds on Samsung TVs

We've received reports that the Spotify app is skipping after a few seconds, with multiple mentions of Samsung TVs.  The reports note that tracks are playing without audio on the Samsung TV devices, and trouble-shooting has already been tried.

I get the same issue on my Sony tv. No sound and after 9 seconds skips to the next song. Again no sound and skips after a few seconds. Rinse and repeat. 

Currently unable to listen to music with good speakers making my subscription worthless. 

Not overly impressed by the lack of direct support, instead relying on a public forum. If it wasn’t a paid subscription I wouldn’t mind…

My Question or Issue

When I try to play a song it is quiet and the song is playing according to the bar. After 5 seconds in to the ”quiet” song the app starts jumping around and starting a new song but it is still quiet. This repeats itself until i close the app.

Having the same issue, tired the DNS thing but it didn't work. I hear music if I connect my TV to my phone hotspot but that's not a practical solution. Other apps works fine on the TV, which is connect by cable straight to router.

 

My TV is Samsung AU8000 55 TV.

FIXED IT. Could be a temp patch, we’ll see. Setting>all settings>connection>network>reset network>reconnect to network. I did this with my app open, then closed it and reopened it. It even played immediately. No skips. No 10 second delay.

@Breezy0808 and @sara_s02 great for you!! I did also reset the netwerk settings in my Samsung TV, but  no changes to the problem. Spotify still does not perform as it should. 
@Kiril do you have any suggestion or a date when this issue will be fixed?? Thanks in advance!

For some unknown reason Spotify started working again. What happened?? But not on the account that i created for my samsung tv? how to reset account?

Any update on this? This seems to be an issue with Android TV devices like the Nvidia Shield.

 

If you run the app on the Shield, we see the same issue as has been reported here. Songs don't play and it skips every few seconds from one song to the next (even if you start the song playing on a smartphone and then choose the Shield as your output device). If you uninstall the Spotify App from the Shield though and then cast from your phone's Spotify app to the Shield it works just fine (phone is on the same network).

 

This is not an acceptable solution because I don't want to need my phone to be able to play music on my TV.
