Spotify app is skipping after a few seconds on Samsung TVs

We've received reports that the Spotify app is skipping after a few seconds, with multiple mentions of Samsung TVs.  The reports note that tracks are playing without audio on the Samsung TV devices, and trouble-shooting has already been tried.

Thank you for reporting this to us. An issue has been identified regarding skipping on Samsung TVs. The right folks are looking into this and working on a solution.

 

We're not able to provide an exact timeline for a fix, but we'd recommend always keeping your Samsung TV's firmware and also the Spotify app up to date. This way you will ensure you're on the latest version and will receive the fix as soon as it's out.

 

For anyone experiencing this with a different TV brand, make sure to share your details in this thread.

I had the same problem, no sound and endless skipping of playlist on my android tv app. I solved it in my setup and i believe this post is the solution, because i can toggle the error. It's a home network problem. My setup: I have an internet fiber modem/router and behind it a TPlink deco mesh system. This runs in Router mode (default for many devices). Several android/web instances of spotify are running on this mesh network. When changing the Deco system to Acces Point mode (thus expanding the network from the fibermodem/router) the problem dissapeared instantly. Switching back to router mode initiated the problem again. What also worked was connecting the TV with wifi of utp cable to the Deco system when in router mode.

 

Multiple spotify instances on the same network are communicating with eachother when running from the same internet ip adress. The problem occurs when a spotify device on layer 2 (which is able to connect to layer 1) but the spotify device on layer 1 cannot connect to layer 2 due to the inaccessable router settings when in router mode -> ERROR! skipping fail etc initiated.

 

The setup when NOT working: (Android TV directly is the ISP modem)

SOLUTION:

Basically all registered devices (including the (android) TV) must be on the same network AND in the same ip range.

The only way to play music is on video option for those that have the option, for me only using my phone data works fine, but the corporation have to fix this NOW!

Spotify is successfully paired with Samsung TV through Macbook Air. I press play on a song and sound works for first few seconds, then goes silent. I see it "playing" on the TV screen.

Are there any updates on this?? It's been literally over a year of this same issue. No matter how many times I update the app or tv, I can't use the app at all. This is crazy!

I’ve had the same issue with my Samsung TV for a while. Recently I found a solution that seems to fix the issue every time it happens which is to turn the wifi off and then on again while the Spotify app is open.

I have the same problem, with my Samsung TV, Spotify Place for 10 seconds each song and then skips to the next. Also, there is no sound. If I choose a song that has video option then there is sound. I believe it is something to do with the way Spotify handles audio format for videos vs audio only.

This is so unacceptable. I have been having this same issue for a year and it’s actually gotten worse because now, instead of pausing in the middle of a song, it actually freezes and becomes completely unresponsive. I have rebooted everything numerous times, I’ve signed out of all devices, i’ve deleted the app, reinstalled. I’m paying for a service and Spotify does absolutely nothing to fix this issue.

O aplicativo até ontem abria e eu podia acessar minha playlist e dar play em um música, no entanto, não saia som de jeito nenhum. A minutagem da música rodava, mas nada de som.
Agora hoje o aplicativo nem chega a abrir, fica apenas a logo do Spotify em uma tela escura.
A Tv em questão é a SMART SAMSUNG 43" Modelo DU7700 "Tudo em um". Contactei a Samsung e recebi suporte tentando de tudo que me foi orientado e nada deu certo. No fim, informaram que eu precisaria contactar o suporte do Spotify para resolver este bug.

Descobri mais uma coisa: A música só toca com som desde que tenha vídeo. Musica sem vídeo não toca. 

Por favor, corrijam esse bug.
