Spotify app keeps randomly crashing and reopening (macbook air)

Status: Closed

So I've never had this problem before but I always keep spotify open on my computer and today I was playing music and it would stay open for 30 seconds and then quit itself out and reload over and over again. I tried force quitting out of the app and restarting my computer but nothing is working. I also read something about a "spotify shortcuts" option that might help but couldn't find it. I'm open to any suggestions at this point 🙂

Same happening to us. Is this a hack?

abbiieryan
ah it worked!!! Thank you so much 🙂 also side note: mine was partially
crashing because it wouldn't update itself to the newest update, so anyone
having similar troubles- try that as well!!

Same problem here too. I did what Oviione suggested it worked for me. Thanks

Sophia

Hey Guys!

Thanks for reaching out to the Spotify Community. We'd like to help.

@user-removed. Just to confirm, have you tried what @OviiiOne suggested? That should do the trick.

Let us know how it goes or, if you have any questions. We'll be here for you

Thanks! That works!

It seems that constantly updating things (that seem to work fine) bombards us with new issues and problems that eat endless chunks of our time. It's annoying and boring!!! Urgh! Meh!

I had the same issue as OP. Uninstalling and reinstalling a fresh version worked for me. Program no longer crashes and reopens over and over.
