Spotify breaks graphic driver on Lenovo Helix 2 tablet on Windows 10

The Spotify App will break the sleep mode of Windows 10 on Lenovo Helix 2 tablet. When installed the machine will not turn the screen back on when waking up from sleep. Also any changes to the screen resolution will result in black screen. Confirmed to be on issue of Spotify as removing the app will reinstate functionality.

Hey @Slilie!

Hey @Slilie!

Could you let us know the Spotify version you're running? Also, does this happen when you're streaming music or when the app is not being used?

We'll see what we can suggest.

Slilie

I was using the latest Spotify version. It happens as soon as Spotify is installed on the machine It does not need to be running.I just tried again and can confirm the behaviour.I can also confirm that removing the App will bring the normal behaviour back.

Laura

Thanks for the info!

Could you let us know the specific version of the app? Also, let us know when did you start noticing this behaviour.

Keep us posted.

Thanks for getting back to us @Slilie! Sorry to hear you're still having trouble.

Could you try uninstalling the app, then manually removing all Spotify files / folders? It'd be great if you could then restart your device, and reinstall Spotify in safe mode.

Keep us posted with how you get on 🙂

That's ok with me - the device itself has more problems than only this one and I have pretty much given up on it.

I still think this could be fixed in the graphics driver but Lenovo is not providing the latest Intel drivers  and I'm not able to replace the Lenovo delivered drivers with the legacy Intel ones.

Thank you
