Spotify connect gaps on Pioneer VSX-930

Device:

Pioneer VSX-930

 

Operating System Version:

[1-283-009-507-193] (last Pioneer firmware)

 

Spotify Version:

Spotify connect on pioneer device

Spotify app (family premium account) on 3 different Android phones, each one presenting the issue

 

Description:

Random but very frequent gaps and freezes in the music when using Spotify Connect.

 

To reproduce:

  1. Start spotify on phone
  2. Start playing music
  3. Ask spotify Connect to stream from the Pionner receiver, and wait for a few seconds

Workaround:

No workaround found at all. Here is what I've tried, without any effect:

  • restarting the Pioneer receiver
  • updating the Pioneer's firmware
  • shutting down other devices on the network (tablet, PC, ...)
  • using other ethernet ports on my router and/or ethernet switch
  • restarting my router

 

I pretty much wrote the same description as other "SOLVED" issues raised by other users on spotify devices, since the symptoms are exactly the same. 

 

Please let me know how I can solve this

That's not cool! Could you try a reinstall of Spotify on your phone? Also, if you could try to use your Pioneer device on a different network connection, that'd be awesome! 🙂
