Spotify displays the previous song rather than the song currently playing

Phone - One plus 3
Car - Mk7 Golf R
When playing Spotify via Bluetooth in my car it displays the first song I play correctly but when the second song starts playing it continues to display the previous songs information. From then on it displays the previous songs information. I have tried unpairing Bluetooth and reinstalling Spotify. (This was not an issue until about a month ago) It used to work as expected, displaying the current song playing's information.
Any suggestions?

Just to check - what Spotify and Android version are you rocking? Also, have you tried using a different device? How does it go?
