Spotify family : fail to stream to a speaker with one account (OK for others)

Hi all,

 

I subscribed an Family account and i'm facing a strange issue. My wife can easily stream music from her smartphone with her account to our compatible A/V receiver. But in my case, when trying on same devices (same smartphone, same AV receiver) with my account, it's not connecting...it seems it's not an 'hardware issue' but more an account issue. My account is the master one in the spotify family subscription. Just in case, smarphone is xperia X with Android 7.0, A/V receiver is Sony STRDN1070 (compatible Spotify connect). thanks in advance for your help

I'd suggest you get in touch and also send this link so they know what troubleshooting we've done!

thanks for your quick answer. I followed the steps you indicated, unfortunately with no success. Again let me highlight that if i use a different account within my Family subscription (e.g. my wife's) and if i use same devices/same app version, it works juste fine. It seems issue is related to my account. Looking forward to reading your reply. Best

Just a follow-up on this topic, maybe i'll help other users. So I was failing to stream from my account because my user name included invalid symbol like [ or -...for some reason (?!) while you're authorized to use these symbols in your user name when you create your spotify account, it will later create issues if you try to stream music from smartphone/tablet to speakers. So I created a new user name (without any 'special' symbols, and it's now working just fine.
