Ever since I updated to iOS 11 on my iPhone 7s, Spotify has been extremely bad with battery drain. Sometimes it gets as bad as 10% charge gone in 15 minutes, or even battery drain while I’m charging my phone and playing Spotify through a Bluetooth speaker.

On top of that, the phone gets very hot when I’m listening to Spotify. These battery and heat issues have been consistent for the past weeks and are only for Spotify, not any other app.

Is there a way to fix this? Or am I waiting on an optimization update for iOS 11? Anyone else have this issue?

Here is the log file from when spotify goes crazy and drains the battery. Currently running iOS 11.1 public beta 5.

Didnt notice any problem while running public beta 4 though.

Today ive tried the new spotify update (8.4.25) with iOS 11.1 and still got the same problem with 100% cpu

I'm having the same problem on my iPhone 6 with the latest iOS update, especially when using the app as a remote and then stopping the music without force quitting the app I lose easily 30% overnight... Looks like the app keeps running even when it doesn't has to play music, and using the remote it shouldn't be playing music at all...

Hi!

My former username was ”Joppsa”. I can just repeat what I said earlier. The issue seems totaly related to the account. Not your device.

I first tested to switch account with a friend whos not affected by the bug. That end up in him getting my battery problem and my problem was solved. (Cold restart of Spotify app neccessery) After this test I’ve created a new account for myself.

No problem after that! It would be interesting to hear if somebody else have tested this.
