Spotify shuffle sucks

I have a playlist with over 2,000 songs 

Shuffle gives me the same 50 songs over and over again! 

Depending on how I sort the playlist depends on which 50 songs I get. If I sort my playlist by title all I get is songs starting with "a".

I have over 2,000 songs and I want to listen to them all. Not just a handful.

100% right the shuffle SUCKS. People have comments about this going back to 2013 so I am guessing this is something they do on purpose. Perhaps because they choose songs with lowest royalties. As a programmer this is as easy as songs.play(math.random()%songs.count()) and reissue the function everytime the playlist has been gone through.

You mean a company the size of Spotify cant figure out a legit algorithm to randomize the shuffle.. this is aboslutely still an issue and its total BS to ask people to use a "work-around" when they pay top dollar for your service.. this issue has been going on for YEARS.. heres hoping someone comes along and knocks Spotify off soon

the looks of it, this has been an identified issue since at least 2014.

What gives, Spotify? This seem like it should be an extremely simple problem to fix (unless it’s a business/royalties issue, in which case, please just tell us)

Thw workaround suggested by @Hubo is extremely cumbersome and more trouble than it’s worth.

I completely agree, shuffle does not work properly. You pay not only for the music, you need the player, and you can't be doing a playlist for all the songs you add. It just doesn't work. I strongly agree that's a huge issue.

I love all the songs I’ve downloaded, but not when it plays the same 50 songs on shuffle. I have way more good ones that I haven’t heard in a while. Hope this gets fixed. Otherwise I’ll just go with a different music streaming service. Smh.

Agreed. This sucks and is doing it to me right now. Shuffled my whole library but hearing the same three artists over and over.

Fix**bleep**! That BS doesnt work for years! „Not an issue” lol XD Are you kidding us? Its issue as **bleep**. Maybe its time to try out Apple Music instead
