Spotify stopped working on Denon AVR X2000

Hi,

Few days ago Spotify stopped working on Denon AVR X2000 receiver. There must be something changed by Spotify on the SERVER side (protocol change). Everything else works, wifi, internet radio and my NW not changed anything last 6 months.

Spotify worked for 5 year on my receiver!!

Restart of the receiver, power cable out, nothing helps. I hav cable, not wifi from router.

When I tested on my Chromebox connected to X2000, same thing!" Spotify does not work anylonger! Coincident? Maybe, but...

On chrome the sollution was to change "pluging" setting to allow [*.]spotify.com.
Settings > Advanced > Privacy > Plugins > Manage Exceptions > [*.]spotify.com

I want my SPOTIFY on my receiver BACK now!!! It's much better sound quality than via Chrome box!! Please spotify! Give Denon an update to receiver instruction!

Hello everyone!

Thanks for the report. We had a little hiccup earlier but everything should be running just fine now.

If there's anything else we can do for you, just give us a shout.

Have a nice day 🙂

It seems to be a general issue on DENON receivers. Spotify did not work on my DENON CEOL-N8 for several days. I have just tried a few minutes ago and now it is OK..

Hi,

Yes! Spotify reverted back the crazy untested and un-communicated server protocol changes they did!

... it works agains since a few days back (2016-10-26)!!

Thank you!

This "community" is a joke! I've had Spotify connection issues with my Denon receiver since the day I bought it. Not to mention, this is the second Spotify "compatible" receiver I have purchased with exactly the same problem. I have a Pioneer $700 receiver sitting in the corner collecting dust. Why won't you address this problem? It is obviously a problem for many users. I bought my receiver(s) specifically because of the Spotify integration. I am a Premium Spotify user specifically for the reciever integration. If this does not work it does me no good. I am a Software Engineer. If you can't figure out how to fix this, send me your code and I WILL! Completely unacceptable!

I do completely agree with jimmyjamez. My CEOL-N8 will be the last DENON product I purchase. Their support service had confirmed sometimes ago that they will never update the firmware on that model. By the way, I will stop my Premium Spotify suscription, since I only use it on that Hi-Fi player.

Well, seeing as I have the exact same problem on my Pioneer, I would assume it is a Spotify issue. Either way, one of them should own up to it and fix it! I'm about to take a bat to the Denon. So frustrating!

I have the samew issue on my Denon AVR X2000 since Jan 2017.
It is somehow not connecting and cannot load playlists etc.
Internet Radio and everything else works fine, though. Is there anything you can do about it?
Thanks for support.

 Hello Spotify Support:

I started having the same problem. Do you have a fix to this playlist problem? I've had a firmware problem with Pandora on this Denon model AVR-X2000 since last year and now I am unable to play Spotify. May have to cancel my subscription.....
