Spotify won't play

Hello. Recently, my spotify account has been misbehaving. I enjoy listening to music, so when this happened to me, it was an extreme shock. Whenever I hit play, nothing happens. The album doesn't show up, the time stays at zero, NOTHING happens. The play button stays the same, it doesn't go green, literallt nothing happens. Would you please explain to me why Spotify loaths me so? Thank you.

That's odd. Could you let us know the device, operating system and Spotify version you're running? Also, it's not ideal, but the exact steps here should help out: https://support.spotify.com/article/reinstallation-of-spotify/.

PS: be sure to restart your device after doing this.
