[Tizen] Samsung Smart TV app volume level too high

My Question or Issue

The gain in the Samsung Tizen Spotify app is much too high, causing both digital distortion and way-too-loud playback. Audio played through the Tizen app sounds simply awful, rendering the app useless. (Other apps on the same TV have perfect audio, both in terms of distortion and general loudness.)

It's disappointing that this problem persists in 2021! Is this not an issue with a simple fix - just reduce the in-app gain? Or perhaps add an in-app option to adjust the gain?

I can’t imagine it’s difficult to recreate and fix in a lab environment. In addition, the absence of any response from the vendor (Spotify) implies a complete disregard or our (user) input.

Best that we all find other alternatives for our HiFi steaming needs.

It is still there. On my Samsung GQ55QN85AATXZG it is also really loud, but luckily not distorted (using ARC). A fix would be nice.

Hi, I had the same issue with bad sound on Samsung tv, and i did fix it today. Check if your sound out from the tv is set to dolby digital.
Try this: on the tv, go to tv setting> sound> expert settings> sound format and choose PCM format. 
”I had mine set to dolby digital”

Thank your for your advice. I have it already on PCM 😞 with arc (not earc) you only have PCM.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, my audio out is already set to
PCM, but the Spotify app is much too loud (and the other apps on my Tizen
TV sound fine). Just want to note to Spotify staff that this is not a
solution to the problem I reported.

Same here, didn't work for me either. Spotify is still way louder than anything else
