Top artists are inaccurate

As a premium member for the past three years I would like to say that I am completely satisfied with the service and spend much of my time using the app, 82,000 minutes last year according to my year in review (See attachment). 

The only area that I have noticed that seems to never be accurate is my top played artists, although my yearly and monthly reviews seems to be entirely accurate. With the new Tinder collaboration I was disappointed that my true "top played artists" were not available to choose from. Maybe it is just an issue with my account; regardless I wanted to see if anyone else noticed this and if i could get any help with the issue.

Everyone, if you want the tech team to truely care, publicly post your complaints to facebook, twitter, instagram, etc with #tinder and #spotify tagged. Make the problem public and hold them accountable.

Yeah, thats funny because I just read a thread about this same problem going back to 2012!

Having the same problem of wanting to accurately represent my musical interests in Tinder and somehow you guys have selected the most pedestrian popular artists in my library totally ignoring what I actually listen to every day. I dont think this is being looked into. I dont believe you are working on it. I think as many other commenters have suggested that its rigged that way. Ive noticed on other peoples Tinder accounts their top ten is almost always populated with top forty garbage, which makes me swipe left, but Im not entirely sure Im being fair. Why cant we select our own favorites??

Thanks for your reports and patience here. Rest assured, our tech teams are aware and working with Tinder on this issue 

 

In the meantime, to update your top artists in Tinder follow the steps here to reconnect Spotify;

 

In Tinder > Edit Profile > My top Spotify artists > Disconnect Spotify > My top Spotify Artists > Add Spotify to your profile.

 

This has helped many users. If you're still having trouble, make sure you're rocking the latest version of both Spotify and Tinder.

We just wanted to let you know the right teams are aware of this issue, and are still working on things backstage.

We don't have any new info just yet, but we always recommend keeping the app up-to-date.

 

Also, as mentioned in the above comment, to update your top artists in Tinder you can follow the steps here to reconnect Spotify:

 

In Tinder > Edit Profile > My top Spotify artists > Disconnect Spotify > My top Spotify Artists > Add Spotify to your profile.

 

This has helped a lot of users in the meantime.
