Unable to find chromecast device

Status: Closed

I've added ths before, but it was closed (id 1824468).

 

I did all the things suggested, problem is still there.

 

A lot of times spotify doesn't find the chromecast audio device. Reinstalled spotify, changed access point, have no offline playlists, occurs on several phones.

 

A restart of spotify usually helps. More information is in the closed issue ( https://community.spotify.com/t5/Ongoing-Issues/Unable-to-find-chromecast-devices/idc-p/1905264 )

Welcome to the Community. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. 

 

FWe'd like you to make sure:
  • You have the latest firmware installed on your Chromecast device.
  • Your device is connected to the same WiFi network as your Chromecast.
Then, follow the steps here. After this, follow these steps to connect the device.

Hi,

I also have this problem.

It starter before a week I guess. I use spotify with 5 chromecasts in my home. I have used it for about 5 month before without this problem.

It also does not help to close the app and open it again.

What instantly helps is to log out and log into your account. 

I have also reinstalled spotify. Does not make any difference though...

A little bit annoying!

If it's possible, can you try restarting your WiFi router? Also, does this keep happening if you log into a different Spotify account?
