Unable to opt in for "Process my Facebook data"

So just now I found out that reason for my username being bunch of random numbers, is cause the option of Process my Facebook data was opted out. When I go to the settings to turn it back on, I dont see any way of saving this setting and when I reload the page it appears to be off again. Since there are absolutely 0 ways of connecting to some sort of customer service, how do I get this setting back on?

I just turned off 'Facebook data' option, but I want to turn it on again.

When I turn on, the radio button will show successfully.

when I refresh the website, it will turn it off again.


How to solve it? thanks!

Just to confirm, have you tried performing the same steps in a private/incognito window? We suggest you try this as it will avoid any trouble caused by the cache-memory of your browser.

I did check facebook and it has all of the options enabled, so that shouldn't be the case. I tried relogging and everything else. The problem seems to be that spotify doesn't save my choice of enabling the option on their website.

If the app has issues saving your changes i would recommend following the instructions presented on this Spotify answer and perform a clean reinstall of the app.

Thank you for the follow up reply. However, it is the website that is not saving the changes not the app itself, as the app does not even provide this option to be changed.

Do you mind trying once again in a private/incognito window? We suggest this steps as it'll make sure you avoid issues with the cache of the browser.


If this doesn't help, just try in a different browser. Let us know how it goes after trying these steps.

I've got the same issue. I tried making the change on a different browser with no cache, didn't work. Would like to note that the personalised ads radio button on the same page does work, just not the process facebook data button

Can you check if you've allowed the Apps and Websites permissions within your Facebook settings? These should be activated so that you toggle on the Facebook data on the account page.


Also, do you mind trying the same on another device, if you have this option? This way you can see if the issue is device-related or not. Then let us know how it goes.

as you can see. The connection is made on facebook, but something is wrong on the spotify end. If I re-log my spotify on my phone, the connect to facebook button reappears, which it shouldn't, even though the facebook data button is disabled.

I also tried to enable Processing of my facebook data from another pc in a clean browser, but it didn't work this time either
