Unable to share music with friends

Recently I have found out that I am no longer able to share songs/albums/playlists with friends and my friends are unable to do so. Now, when I click 'Share' the only option is to post the song to all my followers, instead of messaging a friend a song. This is a huge annoyance as the feature was very useful for sharing music with my friends. What even is the point of removing it???

Secondly, another issue that has already been reported but is very annoying is that notifications have stopped showing up for new messages a long time ago for no good reason. What's the point of having a messaging system if you don't get notified when you are sent a message? I don't understand why this feature was taken away either.

Both of these issues are making Spotify less convenient than it was and I honestly don't see the point - why would you make people dislike the app more but taking away these kinds of things? I really don't understand. Is there any chance either of these features will return soon?

How can I stop the system from emailing me when someone replies? I unchecked the box but I don't see a way to save it.

I agree, this was a really useful function as I [used to] share a lot of tunes directly with friends.  Now I have to share via WhatsApp or other social media; for what reason has this been done?? Are Spotify on commission when other media services are used.

Was a poor desicion to remove this function from the Android App... especially as it is still available on the iPhone verson.

That is really stupid in my opinion. Now if I want to share stuff with a friend specifically I have to blast it through social media in stead of directly? DUMB.

You can share your music with your friends directely by copying a link to the song and pasting it into a messaging app (e.g. Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp). Let me know if you have any questions about this! 🙂

1. Sharing links to songs requires going through an external app, which is less convenient than sharing it directly with people.

2. Your original response has a link where we are supposed to go to leave feedback and presumably read about why this feature was removed. When I click on it, it says I don't have access to the information. Can you summarize the information here or provide me with access or a link that I can use?
