There are a number of my songs released by labels on compilation albums under a different album artist name rather than showing “various artists”. If I create playlists from them on my account will this steer streaming royalties away from the labels as my share comes from them via my publisher? I’m hoping that this is not the case and would support them by increasing the potential for streaming royalties. Please could you clarify this for me?
Also, these albums do not have a link to reconcile my songs to myself as the artist. When people search for my songs under my name as the song artist, they’re not showing up in search results at all. I need a link to show my name somewhere on the platform as the artist of the song. The label has appeared to have done this for other compilation albums - by showing the artist’s name next to the song title in the album track list but do I have to contact the label and wait for them to then contact Spotify to do this? Or can I approach Spotify myself as a verified artist with the information to get this done?
Hey @anjunaparadiso! Welcome to the Spotify Community!
Thanks for your report. I'd recommend reaching out to Spotify for Artists. They might be able to help you out here. You can pop them a message here. If there's anything else, just give me a shout! 🙂
Have a great day!
