Volume too quiet on ANDROID devices

Recently switched from an iPhone to an Android.

I use an Auxillary cord, as my vehicle and home stereo are a bit older. I can MAX the volume out on my Android and system and it still not be nearly as loud as the iPhone would be at half the volume.

I noticed that Google play is much louder at the same settings.

I've seen posts with the same issue, but nobody directly relating it to an Android device.

Any solution, other than using Bluetooth or switching streaming services?

Hi guys!

We're changing this thread as "Not an issue" since it's expected. Volume on Spotify was changed to protect you from hearing damage. However, we'll pass on your feedback to the right folks.

Give us a shout if we can help with anything else.

Take care 🙂

Hi @Ayekaye02, welcome to the Spotify Community!

That's odd. Keep in mind that the volume quality is the same one on all devices. If you want, you can find more info about the quality for every device here.

Also, can you let us know if you're using a third party equalizer? We recommend you to use a different aux cord.

Let us know how it goes 🙂

 @MaríaCamila Thanks for your response.

I have tried using a third party equalizer, as there are no equalizer seetings available through Spotify on Androids, but noticed no significant difference.

The Auxillary cord being used is top of the line, and not cheap by any means. This exact cord provides amazing sound volume and quality when my husbands older iPhone is plugged in amd using Spotify.

Hey @Ayekaye02

Have you changed any settings in your phones Equalizer, do you have "Normalize Volume" active? If you aren't sure about your Equalizer, open your Spotify app, tap Library, then go to the settings (top right corner). Once you're there scroll down to Equalizer and tap on that, you will get a warning, it basically warns you that when you are changing the Equalizer's setting it can affect the volume un-expectedly, press Ok. When it opens "Sound Alive", you can then press reset (at the top of the screen) and this will set your Equalizer settings back to default and, hopefully, should fix your issues!

Let me know how it goes, if it dowsn't work, I'll try to find another solution for you!

Best,

Jordan

@CryticalAce

Hi Jordan,

Thank you for the suggestion. I do not have "normalize volume" active.

I am familiar with using the equalizer through Spotify, as I used to do so on my iPhone. For some reason there is absolutely no equalizer in settings in my Spotify app on my newer phone (LG G6).

Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Angela

@Mara_F

Are you able to explain why there is no equalizer available in Spotify app on android devices?
